Day 21: Our Last Day in London

Writing about my last day in London a little bit late! Yesterday was a long travel day.  I got picked up from Stamford Street at 7:00 am, and my flight to Toronto was supposed to be at 11:00.  It got delayed a couple hours.  I finally made it to Toronto, and my next flight was supposed to be at 5:45.  This also got delayed several times, and I didn’t leave Toronto till around 9:00.  I was relieved to finally get home, and I slept very well.

The day before, August 10, was our final full day in London.  It started with the closing ceremonies for King’s College, where all the classes got certificates of participation.  We then had a few open hours, so Lindsey and I explored Borough Market, a large open-air food market. We got a brownie and a smoothie.

Then it was time for our final reception! There were representatives from Fulbright, King’s, and the embassy there.  We gave our final presentation, and we showed them a video we put together.  The link for the video is here:

Our professor and our mentor took us out to dinner at an Indian restaurant down the street, where we tried all kinds of curry dishes.  I was surprised that I actually really liked it! The day ended as we walked around South Bank, Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, and the streets of London one last time together.

  • Sounds as is your final day in London was delightful, as all your London days have been! Glad you enjoyed the Turkish food! Liked pics of your group but could not video–another time, maybe next time.
    Love and prayers,
